Split

Pain you have always been the author of my life,
But it’s time for this story to end.
You have been a great teacher,
But sadly, a terrible friend.
I love the parts of me you have tormented,
They have had most of my time.
You’ve stolen many moments from me,
But always kept me in line.
The next chapters we have,
We shall deal with alone.
You live your life now.
I’ll live my own.
